The Skipper GDS102 Dual Frequency Navigation echosounder is based on the highly successful skipper GDS101 model. Skipper developed the Wheelmark approved GDS102 to meet the demand for a Dual Frequency Navigation Echosounder that can be connected to a wide range of transducers, old and new.
The Skipper GDS102 can operate at any frequency within the range of 10Khz. to 250Khz. With the cost of dry docking and lost downtime, the Skipper GDS102 is the perfect solution to replacing your old echosounder and utilising your existing transducer.
As a general guide, frequencies above 100Khz. are best suited for shallow water navigation where accurate depth measurement and picture discrimination are essential, whilst lower frequencies will provide constant depth readout in deeper waters, where it may be important to watch the depth trend when sailing in unfamiliar waters.
