RoxAnn from Sonavision is a hydro-acoustic sensor which enable users, from hydrographic surveyors or commercial fishermen, to produce maps which show the detailed material composition of the seabed.
RoxAnn works by identifying the material characteristics of the sea bottom from echosounder returns from the seabed. It interfaces with a GPS and a PC running a 2-D or 3-D mapping package to enable seabed classification mapping in real time.
The RoxAnn system is also able to be interfaced to the Olex 3D Seabed Mapping system with the addition of the Hardness Module.
With the RoxAnn GD you can quickly identify seabed material (rock, gravel, sand, silt etc) and find the right ground for your target catch. By knowing the seabed you can save time at sea and increase efficiency and over time build up detailed maps of your fishing grounds.
You are also able to spot rough ground and avoid damaging or losing gear.
