Atec multibeam sonar is designed for high resolution seabed survey. The compact sonar, with an integrated transceiver and sound velocity sensor connects directly to Olex via Ethernet, and is automatically controlled without any need for manual operation.
The sonar uses broadband technology for increased range and accuracy. With its high ping rate, wide maximum swath coverage of 180 degrees and 0,5 to 500 meters depth range.
When Olex is amended with the ATEC software module, Olex becomes the sonar's top-end software, which allows it to automatically determine various parameters such as pulse length, bandwidth, and more.
The sonar is continuously adjusted to provide maximum ping rate and best resolution, based on the varying water depth. Atec can also be manually controlled by the user, if more fine-tuning is desired. We can offer a complete survey system consisting of Olex, sonar, and different solutions for position, attitude and sound velocity. One can for instance choose Spatial and auto sound speed as a mid-range solution, or RTK-GPS, Kongsberg MRU and Valeport SVP for best results. The collected seabed data can be exported as complete Olex 3D models, as text files for import to other GIS or as screenshots.
A typical setup of ATEC, with accompanying sensors and software, may consist of the following:
Hardness was surveyed with Atec, south of Vega in northern Norway. Depth down to 200 meters. There are some sound speed errors, but they do not affect the hardness recordings.
